Another Failed Buisness Venture – continued

In my previous article, I jokingly said “So anyone wanna buy some software or Rolex on the cheap??”

But then I thought …. “Why not?”

Another failed biz venture

As some of you might be aware, I recently tought about retailing “Adobe Photoshop”. I’d found a wholesale source, and had big plans. After all, the retailers have got to get their stock from a wholesaler, so maybe I’d hit the jackpot.

I ordered the stock, and when it arrived, all looked well. They were in printed boxes, sealed in cellophane wrap and appeared to have a hologram on them.

I installed one of them. Yes:great. The software installed, and the serial number was accepted. “These are legit” thought I!

What’s going on ‘ere, then?

After several years online, with a blog that’s seemingly “dead in the water”, I have suddenly started to get a rush of “New User” registrations … and the annoying thing is I haven’t a clue where all these new users are coming from! I haven’t done any advertising, I haven’t written any articles, or sent out any tweets … yet every day sees 3 or 4 new registrations.

Be interesting to see if any of these new signups comment on this post to tell me what motivated them to join. Or is it – as I suspect – some sort of “mass mailing” software that has latched onto my WordPress blog domain name and is sending me automated “traffic”. I’ waiting foor your comments, folks

Link directory: Working again

About four weeks ago, someone recently pointed out that the Link Directory script wasn’t working! Unfortunately, I was upgrading my PC at the time, and was unable to correct the error at the time. This has now been rectified, and they are working again.

Remember, you can also add this link directory – using your own catergory structure – to your own blog or website. It is one of a series of scripts I developed called “wp-files”

Laptop Security Software

Some people like to edit their video on a laptop, such as when production demands placed on the individual mean that that video episode has to be completed by tomorrow’s deadline. For some people, it’s simply a personal choice rather than a bulky desktop PC.

Even more people use their laptops for business use, enabling them to catch up with their office work whilst traveling on the train etc. A few more use their laptop for personal use, storing photos and music files etc.

Great new ClickBank software

As you know, I promote the “CB-Wizard” software which – amoungst other things – allows you to place a ClickBank search engine on your webpages. That’s fine … if you have a website to display the search box. But now, there’s a “new kid on the block” which – in many ways is superior to my own software. For starters, you earn commission without any website. Rather, you let your customers go to the existing “ClickBank Marketplace” to search for a product … and if they buy, you earn the commission. How simple is that? (Oh, and in case you’re wondering, this software is FREE)

January: Quit Smoking month

It’s a fact.

Although people try to quit smoking at various times of the year, a large number of people make it their New Year Resolution to try and quit smoking.

Whilst a lot of people will simply rely on their own will-power to quit, (ie saying they will quit … but actually doing very little about it) a few people will try nicotine gum and nicotine patches. Ideally, they will gradually reduce their nicotine craving, and be able to quit smoking.

Sadly, many of these quitters will gradually start smoking again.

Traffic Generation: video training

Yawn …

Remember how most of the “guru’s” tell you to generate traffic? Optimise your web pages to feature keywords, (SEO optimisation) … create a few hundred articles, and provide links back to your website … place your URL on various Social Media pages … add your pages to various Social Bookmarking sites … The list goes on and on.

But now there is a new “kid on the block” that promises to show you alternative – and quicker – methods of creating that all important traffic to your website. It’s called Traffic Dashboardand is the brainchild of Kim Roach

Alex Goad’s “Dominating Video”

This product – which is in prelaunch as of Sunday 28th November 2010 – is proposing to tell us all the techniques and methodology used to make your online videos into effective, money making units.

And to do that they have used a “high production value video” (their words) to promote the offer. Compared to some of the PowerPoint presentations that currently pass themselves off as ‘marketing videos’, this video does indeed have “high production values”.
