On December 1st 2009, it became a FDC “requirement” that all websites carried legal ‘Disclaimers’ and ‘Privacy Policies’. In a nutshell, it meant that anyone visiting a site had a right to know what the webmaster intended to do with their information.
For example, when you downloaded that free ebook, and joined their mailing list, did it give them the right to sell your email address to their friends? What sort of ‘personal information’ about you would they store in their databases. What would happen to your credit card information. So on and so on. In short, the user had the right to know what you intended to do with their information.
Now for the savvy webmaster, adding the suitable HTML files and pop-up windows would be within their capabilities … if not time consuming. So I made the whole task a lot easier. Rather than repeat it all here, watch the video below.
The script also contains my “Secret Email” script. Basically, all the big marketers state that you should include your email and mailing address so that potential customers can contact you. (Go ahead and try it. I guarantee you’ll not find contact details on their sites!!)
One reason for this is because of the dredded spam bots that harvest any email address mentioned on a site, and sell it to spammers. But with this script, the email is kept totally hidden, yet people can still email the vendor. Neat.
What’s even better is this script offers 100% commission payments You simply put the code on your website, and if anyone clicks on the link at the end and buys the script, YOU keep 100% commission!
See it in action at the bottom of my blog … and if you want to purchase it, click on the link at the end.
